OUR HOUSING
Breaking Ground is a pioneer in the development of permanent and transitional supportive housing. Using innovative financing and historic restoration, we revitalize buildings and neighborhoods. Each year, we work to increase the supply of affordable housing for those with the greatest economic need. We operate more than 4,000 units of housing, with 750 more in various stages of development.NEED HOUSING?
Breaking Ground offers affordable housing for low-income working professionals and the formerly homeless, some of whom live with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, or physical disabilities. In addition, most of our buildings offers a wide array of on-site support services, recreational activities, and amenities. 90 SANDS | BREAKING GROUND In 2018, Breaking Ground acquired the then-vacant building with a plan to transform it into supportive and affordable housing. Currently under construction, 90 Sands is expected to welcome new, permanent residents beginning in 2022. Of the 491 apartments at 90 Sands, 185 will be affordable to a wide range of New Yorkers, from extremely low CAREERS | BREAKING GROUND Careers.
