Criteria: Accredited Associate membership is for private collections of exotic animals that are not open to the public and therefore do not require a zoo licence.All applicants are subject to a BIAZA inspection within 12 months of applying to become members and all Accredited Associate members are then inspected every threeyears.

Careful planting within animal exhibits can be used to recreate their natural environments, not only providing a suitable back-drop, but giving the animals shelter, enrichment and sometimesalso food.
