ABOUT ME
I was born in the beautiful city of Niteroi in Rio de Janeiro but now live in London. I’m quite active on the Secure Scuttlebutt platform and am both a user and a developer in that ecosystem. It is currently the community and tech I’m most involved and happy with. My work is mostly related to HTML5 where I develop mobile apps and web apps. LANGUAGES THAT COMPILE TO LUA • ANDREGARZIA.COM Moonscript. Moonscript has been around for a while (one of the reasons I forgot to add it to this post in my initial publication) and is stable and used in the industry, it is probably the most popular compile to Lua language out there. I believe that a large part of Itch.io is powered by moonscript and NginX. Moonscript feels like CoffeeScript but for Lua. A YEAR WITH THE SURFACE GO • ANDREGARZIA.COM A month ago I posted about my impressions after my first week with the Surface Pro X and promised a post about my former machine which is a Surface Go, a tiny marvel with which I’ve spent the past part of 2019, well, this is that post. BOOK REVIEW: THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB • ANDREGARZIA.COM Yes, reading it was fun, but it is my firm belief that this book was meant to be listened to instead of read. The narrator Lesley Manville is pure gold, and her work probably accounts for 50% of my enjoyment of the book. Her intonation, dramatic pauses, and tone, all of which further enhance the original text, make for a tremendous fun. BOOK REVIEW: TO SLEEP IN A SEA OF STARS • ANDREGARZIA.COM Posted Sunday, November 8th, 2020. book review. To Sleep in a Sea of Stars has a really nice cover. To Sleep In A Sea Of Stars _ is a space opera by Christopher Paolini, the same author behind the hugely popular inheritance cycle (aka the Eragon books). This books is — asfar as I
SO, I ALMOST DIED MAKING TEA TODAY... • ANDREGARZIA.COM You basically add tea leaves on one chamber, hot water on the other, and flip for them to mix. We noticed a quirk that I should have paid more attention in hindsight: unless we inclined the bottle a bit to prevent liquid from being in contact with the whole surface area of the filter between chambers, there would be no air exchange between them and the water wouldn’t flow. WINDOWS ON ARM NEEDS MORE SUPPORT FROM DEVELOPERS I’ve posted about my initial week with the Surface Pro X not long ago, now a month later I want to address an important topic which I see as crucial for Windows on ARM to get traction: Developer Support. At the moment it is really hard to develop GUI apps for Windows on ARM outside of the “Visual Studio ecosystem”..
