A woman who lived at Dragon Lodge in the 70s wrote on a blog that she often saw a ‘ghost child and heard her crying. She stated that “there was something very sorrowful about the child as she seemed to be askingfor help”.

The ‘Gin-Drinkers Line’ took 2 years to build and fell after just 2 days during the Battle of Hong Kong in December 1941. THE PENINSULA HOTEL, HONG KONG The city was surrendered to the Japanese and HK’s governor was held at the Peninsula before being sent to a prison in Shanghai. The resort itself was renamed the ‘Toa Hotel’ (East Asia Hotel), with rooms reserved for Japanese officers and dignitaries. HONG KONG CHEAPEST MOBILE PHONES Sin Tat Plaza – Many Hong Kongers head straight to Sin Yat Plaza on Argyle Street in Mongkok. Walk straight along the road out of MTR exit D2 – it will appear on your left (no English signage). Head to Luk Keng (last stop, 40mins) – locals will direct you to Fung Hang Family Walk. Kuk Po is 45mins into the trail, which is 2.25km in total. The coastal path is well maintained, quiet and surrounded by hills. The entire Plover Cove hike, however, is a day-trip in itself and possibly the toughest hike in HK and not recommended for beginners. Jasper is a nine-year-old English Sheepdog adopted from Hong Kong Dog Rescue. He is the university’s therapy dog, introduced as part of a new pilot programme. Jasper will be available for 30-minutes sessions at the library at University of Hong Kong on December 11, 13 and 15 – the peak of exam season.
