STRIGOI - ABANDON ALL FAITH YEAR OF THE COBRA - ASH AND DUST LITURGY - H.A.Q.Q. KING - COLDEST OF COLD CATTLE DECAPITATION - DEATH ATLAS UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION - ENRAGED & UNBOUND HEY! LISTEN TO GOD ALONE! written by Simon Clark on November 20, 2019* Listen To This!
Irish quintet God Alone may be young enough to have no functional memories of the nineties, but they are already up to their third release – a self-titled EP that you can find linked at the bottom of this article – and have cast their net of influence wide enough for it to be a little tough to pin down precisely what type of band they are. Although they themselves have plumped for a ‘post-metal’ tag, this by no means tells the whole story. On the surface, it’s a reasonable descriptive starter. With the shortest of the four songson…

There’s something about niche genres that allow artists to connect with their audiences in ways that the larger beasts of the music world do not. That isn’t to say the latter aren’t inspirational for others or have aspirations of speaking their truth in earnest and honest ways that connect with their audiences. Music is, ostensibly, the message. Whether it’s metal, punk, or hip hop, these sub-genres and their many off-shoots, though, often provide a safer haven for more direct messages to be spread away from the prying eyes and ears of those who simply don’t get it. In Latin America,…__Share

While we have occasionally covered non-metal topics in past blog posts, we decided that a dedicated column was warranted in order to more completely recommend all of the music that we have been listening to. Unmetal Monday is a bi-weekly column which covers noteworthy tracks…__Share

Before I launch into everything else, a quick little programming note. I realize these monthly editions have been getting pushed closer to the middle of the following month, which could pose a potential issue as we close in on the end of the year. Be assured that there will be a post for this current month of November on the earlier side of December before we dive head-first into our annual end-of-year wrap-up content.…__Share
