At the end of every day there’s nothing better we can do than to give it all to God. To lay down our worries and cares. To thank him for his blessings and his presence through every hour of the day. To recognize the ways he’s led us, offered protection over our families, and provided for our needs. And though often we know that to be true, it can be difficult to really let everything go. Or we forget to even give him thanks for the constant way he’s at work in ourlives.
We carry the worries and stress straight to bed with us. We hold on to the wounds and hurt feelings. We wrestle for sleep but can’t seem to turn off the spinning thoughts of to-do lists, schedules, and what we still need to get done for tomorrow. It’s true, some days just get hard. We feel exhausted. Worn. Tired of fighting. Struggling with defeated thoughts. None of us are immune. And often there’s not even just one big thing, but just lots of little battles that can drain us dry. Parenting, marriage, job, relationships, fears, worries about the future, experiencing loss, discouragement, illness, money problems – it all can leave us beaten down and worn. And the enemy seems to fight hardest when he knows we’re already weary. God’s very presence and the truth of his word are the only things that can bring deep peace to our souls. The peace he gives is the kind of peace the world can’t offer, the kind of peace that doesn’t make sense even to our own minds. “Your future is secure and made certain because of him.” “Your future is secure and made certain because of him.” May he remind you right now that you are never alone, that he knows your way, and he has a plan. He’s right there with you, both now and in all your tomorrows too. He has already covered the past, so you don’t have to keep going back there. You don’t live there anymore. And your future is secure and made certain because of him. You can rest assured, knowing, believing, he holds it all in his hands. Come to him with your troubles. May God lift all burdens of anxiety from your shoulders. Where you’ve been filled with doubt, may he replace it with faith. Where you’ve been filled with racing thoughts, may he replace it with calm. “He’s the storm-calmer, the peace-giver, the burden-lifter, thehope-bringer.”
“He’s the storm-calmer, the peace-giver, the burden-lifter, thehope-bringer.”
Whatever’s pressing on our minds and hearts tonight, may God give us the strength to lay it down…again. All our wrestling, and the worries and stress we carry, are useless. We can trust that he’ll take care of whatever concerns us. He knows the best way; his timing is perfect. And he is able. He’s the storm-calmer, the peace-giver, the burden-lifter, the hope-bringer. Nothing is too difficult for him. He truly is our peace. Use this prayer as an outline for your own prayer to God for the end of each day, and let him fill you with his peace and love. A Prayer to End the Day:Dear God,
Thank you for the blessing of this day and your goodness in it, we’re grateful for the gift of life. Thank you for all that you’ve allowed into our lives these past hours, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you that you are always with us and will never leave us. We ask for your huge peace to surround us tonight, all of us who feel restless and worried right now, those who have been carrying big burdens and shouldering stress. Help us to lay it down before you, again, even though we’re struggling to really let go. Remind us that you can carry it so much better than we ever could. May your power and your rest fill us fresh. May the presence of your Spirit breathe hope deep into our souls, even as we sleep. Filed under: Uncategorized LORD, RENEW ME AND MY ENERGY Prayer: Energy & Strength For The ExhaustedDear God,
Thank You for another day! Thank You for my life and the purpose You have given me. I come before You tired and ask for a refreshed spirit. I am exhausted and I need Your strength to carry me. Fill me with joy, so that no matter how tired I am, I rejoice because You are good and Your love endures forever. I pray for other wives who are feeling tired or empty. Help us not to complain amidst our weakness. Restore our minds so that we can still function properly. Give our bodies the energy needed to get through each day. We claim healing in Jesus’ name! Please also help us to manage our time so that we will get the rest we need. Help us to prune things that are hard to let go of that suck the energy from us. Lord, we lay our lives down at Your throne and praise You in Jesus’ name AMEN! Filed under: UncategorizedGOD IS LIGHT
God is light – What does that mean? The phrase “God is light” appears in 1 John 1:5, where the apostle John is explaining that the message we have from Jesus Christ is that God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. Light is the nature and character of God. He is not a light or a kind of light; He is light itself. All light comes from Him. At the beginning of time, He created the light to dispel the darkness and chaos that was over all the earth (Genesis 1:1–5). Then He created the lights in the sky, the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis 1:14–16). As light itself and the source of light, He had only to speak and light came into being. Darkness represents everything that is anti-God: the wicked (Proverbs 2:13), judgment (Exodus 10:21), and death (Psalm 88:12). The light that is God is the opposite of the darkness that is evil. The light of God is His holiness, righteousness, and goodness, which is in contrast to the darkness of evil and sin. Light is part of the essence of God. He is completely, unreservedly, absolutely holy, with no sin, no taint of iniquity, and no hint of injustice. Throughout the Old Testament light is regularly associated with God and His word (Psalm 119:105), with salvation (Isaiah 9:2), with goodness (Genesis 1:4), with truth (Psalm 43:3), with His commandments (Proverbs 6:23), and with life (Psalm 56:13). In Psalm 27:1 David declares God to be his light and salvation. God was the light that guided and led David through dark and difficult times of persecution. Darkness is the emblem of distress, trouble, perplexity, and sorrow. Light is the opposite of these. God furnished David with such light that he was filled with confidence and his fears were dispelled. The New Testament picks up these themes, describing the holiness of God in different ways. God “dwells in unapproachable light” (1 Timothy 6:16); He is the “Father of lights” (James 1:17). John’s statement “God is light” is a regular theme in his writings, especially as it relates to Jesus Christ. God’s Light is revealed in Christ, whose light of love shines into lives darkened by sin (1 John 1:5–7). Jesus declares that He is the “light of the world” (John 8:12; 9:5). John describes Jesus, the incarnate Word, as coming into the world to be the “light of men” and “the true light which gives light to everyone” (John 1:1–9). Jesus came as the light of the world, breaking the power of the darkness of sin by His shed blood and death on the cross. Jesus also describes His disciples as light and light-bearers (Matthew 5:14–16), encouraging believers to let their light so shine before the world that they see God in them and glorify Him. Paul picks up that theme, indicating to the believers in Asia Minor and Macedonia that their lives are a shining light of witness to the world around them (Ephesians 5:8). It is the privilege of all believers to pass on the divine light they have received. Jesus told His disciples that the light they received in the dark, meaning His personal revelations to them through parables and obscure sayings, they would one day say in the light and shout from the housetops (Matthew 10:27). All who have entered into the light of God through Christ have the responsibility to “shine as lights in the world” with the light of God himself to a “crooked and twisted generation” of people who live in darkness (Philippians 2:15). Because God is light, those who belong to Him must shine forth His light, becoming more like Christ every day. “For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5:5). God is light means that He creates spiritual light by which His children can see the truth. Without His illumination, we would walk in darkness as the world walks (2 Corinthians 2:14). To walk in the light means to k Filed under: UncategorizedTHANK YOU, LORD
Our lives can get overwhelming, daunting, and hard. We can easily get discouraged, frustrated, and burned out by circumstances or relationships that are beyond our control. In those seasons where we are feeling hopeless and helpless, the best thing we can do is turn away from the challenges and turn toward Christ. When we remember that God is in control and our lives are not our own, we remember we have a Savior who gives us strength when we are weak and who comforts us in all our times of need. We love and serve a good, gracious Father, and we are undeserving of the love, grace, and mercy he so freely lavishes on us. What else could we do but give him endless thanks and praise in return? We hope and pray that the following verses, prayers, videos, and resources help you find countless ways to say “thank you” to the Lord of all heaven and earth, the God who knows and cherishes our hearts. He has given us so much to be grateful for in every season– life, salvation, loved ones, tiny blessings in our busy days, kind words from strangers, sunshine… the list goes on. Anxiety can set in slowly, or wash over you in one fell swoop; but either way, it can leave you feeling rudderless and alone. For some, it’s a feeling of intense panic and fear. Our chest constricts, our breathing grows rapid, and our ability to focus on anything but whatever’s worrying us becomes a nearly impossible feat. For others, it’s a subtle, yet constant foreboding — of the future, of the present, or of something we can’t quite put our finger on. If you’re feeling alone in your internal panic, take comfort in the fact that you’re not. Far from it, actually: Some 40 million Americans live with anxiety each year, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of American, and it’s far more prevalent in women than men. When the world feels like it’s spinning out of control, reciting a prayer or contemplative mantra can remind you to come back to your center, let go of the worry that’s gripping you, and simply let life take over. Dear Lord, I thank you that I can come to You always for any reason. I’m grateful that when I pray to You, You answer me. Help me to come to You at the beginning of my fears and anxieties instead of waiting until I can’t stand them anymore. The quicker I come to You the better. You want to free me from ALL my fears. Help me look to You for help more often so that I can be radiant with Your joy. In Jesus’Name I pray, Amen.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” – James 1:17 The believer in Christ receives a present justification. Faith does not produce this fruit later on, but now. So far as justification is the result of faith, it is given to the soul in the moment when it closes with Christ and accepts Him as its all in all. Are those who stand before the throne of God justified now? So are we as certainly and as clearly justified as those who have entered into the portals of heaven. The thief upon the cross was justified the moment that he turned the eye of faith to Jesus; and Paul, at the end of his life, after years of service, was not more justified than the thief who hadno service at all.
We are today accepted in the Beloved, today absolved from sin, today acquitted at the bar of God’s judgment. What a soul-stirring thought! There are some benefits that we will not be able to enjoy until we enter heaven; but this is our immediate possession. This is not like the corn of the land, which we can never eat until we cross the Jordan; but this is part of the manna in the wilderness, a portion of our daily nutriment with which God supplies us in all our comingsand goings.
We are now–even now–pardoned; even now are our sins put away; even now we stand in the sight of God accepted, as though we had never been guilty. Let our present privileges awaken us to present duty, and now, while life lasts, let us spend and be spent for our sweet Lord Jesus. Heavenly Lord, may we never forget that we are yours, and that your love never changes regardless of time. This is the day you have made, and in every moment we will rejoice for you have taken our shame and made us your children! Filed under: Uncategorized* 1
