HOW POVERTY IS CREATED Poverty is created. Poverty is a human-made phenomenon. Just as humans have created great wealth, we have created great poverty. The causes of poverty in every country are deeply rooted in the global system, which has been programmed over thousands of years to benefit the richest and most powerful – from colonialism, to structural readjustment and the global spread of neoliberalism today.FOOD & NUTRITION
The prevalence of malnutrition worldwide is staggering. Globally, 2 billion people suffer from malnutrition in one form or another. ‘Food and Nutrition’ is another essential for health which throws up a gender imbalance: women and girls are at higher risk of being affected by malnutrition—60% of the world’s hungry are women according to the WorldDISEASE PREVENTION

Many poorer countries lack disease surveillance programs and up-to-date laboratories, which are essential in finding, diagnosing, and containing diseases.MENTAL HEALTH
Good health is about both physical and mental wellbeing. Emotional, psychological and social wellbeing are just as crucial as physical health, and they can all impact on one another. Mental health problems affect people in every country across the world. However, mental health is very closely linked to poverty, discrimination and overall health and wellbeing. SEXUAL & REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH Sexual and reproductive health can be a sensitive topic. In many places around the world it is taboo to speak openly about sex. This can make it difficult to access information and services around sexual and reproductive health, especially in places where religious or cultural beliefs restrict access to contraception or abortion. It is estimated that mental health conditions will affect a staggering one in four people at some time in their lives. Disparities abound, both between countries and particular groups. Typically associated with ideas of equality, freedom and common good, many believe it has lost its meaning and has become more of a buzz word for activists and campaigners.
