DOWNLOADING GSAK
Downloading GSAK. The latest version is GSAK can be downloaded from www.gsak.net. Please send all comments and suggestions to:clyde@gsak.net .
MACRO - LIBRARY - GSAK Macro Library. GSAK users that like to share their own macros can add them to the GSAK macro library. Macros to perform all manner of tasks can be found here. To install one of these macros just click on the .gsk file link at the bottom of the post, and select the "Open With" option. This will then allow you to install the macro into your MacroBACKUP - GSAK
Backup (File=>Backup) Backup allows you to save databases and settings. This feature allows you to take manual backups of GSAK. You can then use these backups for system restore, or swapping information between computers and other GSAK users. This is a good way to transfer data and settings between your desktop and your laptop. OPTIONS: VERSION CHECK Version check (Tools=>Options=>Advanced) If you are connected to the Internet, GSAK can check in the background to see if you have the latest version and give you a message if there is a newer version available. Uncheck this box if you don't want this automatic check done. Daily - The check is GC - PUBLISH LOGS - GSAK The "Publish Logs" dialog displays this table. Getting log entries into this table is accomplished with one of the following: (1) in the main GSAK display grid, right-click on any geocache and select "Add to publish logs", (2) with a GPSr attached to the computer as a USB AUTO - DATABASE VARIABLES - GSAK - The user note is comprised of two sections, the note section and the log section (see notes dialog) These two sections are separated by the literal string "$~ ".If you wish to split the user notes into these two discrete sections then the macro code would go somethinglike:

Special Tags. You can use special tags in waypoint names, descriptions, custom URLs, and custom Programs. These special tags are converted to the corresponding information as described here: %bear - Bearing from current centre point. %bgMap = Brithish grid - the 2 character grid map. %bgEast = British grid - the 5 digit eastingvalue.

The default split screen view includes an online map GSAK currently uses the Leaflet maps api for displaying waypoints and their children. Hide Map - Click on this button when you do not wish to see the Google map in split screen. There are times when you don't need to see the map, and having it display all the time will slow down the rendering of your split screen.GC - MULTI ACCOUNT
Geocaching.com api - multiple account support. GSAK includes support for multiple (up to a maximum of 5) Geocaching.com accounts for use with the api. Support is initiated when you "get" an access token. For each Geocaching.com account you own, take the option to get another access token . When you do your first tokenget, you should see theCOLUMNS - GSAK
GSAK Columns. All the following columns can be added to your current grid view. Not all of these columns are displayed in the default grid view shipped with GSAK. To add any of these columns use Tools=>Options=>Display Note: You can change the order of the columns in the grid. (Drag the column heading left or right to change it'scurrent position).
PERMANENT DELETE LIST You do this via the menu option Database Þ Maintain Ignore List . GSAK displays the following dialog box: Click the check boxes beside the caches that you want to remove from the 'ignore list', and click Delete . GSAK deletes them from the 'ignore list', and they will beCUSTOM ICONS
Custom Icons You can add custom icons to send down to your GPSr or mapping software if they support it. GSAK does not create or send custom icons to your GPSr - check your GPSr owner's manual to determine if custom icons are supported and for instructions on how to create and upload custom iconsOPEN: COUNTY
Open: County. Contents - Index. County Update (File>Load GPX/LOC) Enter options here to automatically update your database with county information.
