George Green was a mathematical genius. His work led to the invention of MRI scanning machines and has helped scientists up to modern day. In 1807 Mr Green, a Nottingham baker (and father of the mathematical physicist George Green) bought the plot of land on which to build his mill. About George Green. George Green was 14 years old when his father built the windmill and for most of the rest of his life George worked in the windmill. But George Green was also a brilliant mathematician and physicist. Green’s Windmill Trust started over 13 years ago as a small group of people who wished to help preserve the milling heritage of the windmill, promote George Green’s reputation as one of the greatest scientists of his age and further the educational and public activities of the Science Centre.. Our community garden which features a Victorian style greenhouse, wildlife pond, vegetable beds and summer house with outdoor pizza oven. The garden is an extension to the heritage of the mill, providing an educational resource and a place for relaxation andtranquility.
