A QUILT OF VALOR PRESENTATION A Quilt of Valor Presentation. Sometimes the stars align, and you get to do something incredibly special for a friend. This happened last week, when I had the great honor of presenting a Quilt of Valor to a longtime quilting friend. Bonnie Hartel was an Army Nurse during the Vietmam era, and served our country with pride and dignity. FINISHING THE DAHLIA PANEL The Dahlia panel quilt is finished, and now hanging up. I did the back differently than usual as this wall hanging is too large for the quilt clips I have in the den. The quilting wasn’t disturbed during this part, as the rips were not in a quilted area. Press carefully, making sure the stray threads and edges are secured. REPAIRING AN OLD DAMAGED QUILT My best advice was to remove the binding plus a couple of inches where the worst damage was occurring, then use this fabric to repair the center of the quilt. Some spots like this one were in a straight line with plenty of fabric left. Those could be resewn with a satin stitch in matching color thread. SEWING A FABRIC BOWL One Block Wonder Panel Quilts – This book builds on the very different and interesting idea of using multiple copies of the same panel, cutting part of it into one block wonder hexagons and combining those with panel elements to create a quilt. Using the methods described, you could make several quits from the same set of panels. Sudoku is a type of puzzle where there are nine nine-patches, and each number or fabric appears only once in a nine-patch, and only once in any row or column across threenine-patches. If
