FLOT EXAMPLES: BASIC USAGE You don't have to do much to get an attractive plot. Create a placeholder, make sure it has dimensions (so Flot knows at what size to draw the plot), then call the plot function with your data. FLOT EXAMPLES: BASIC OPTIONS There are plenty of options you can set to control the precise looks of your plot. You can control the ticks on the axes, the legend, thegraph type, etc.
FLOT EXAMPLES: SERIES TYPES Flot supports lines, points, filled areas, bars and any combinations of these, in the same plot and even on the same data series. FLOT EXAMPLES: CATEGORIES Categories. February March April May January June 0 3 5 8 18 10 13 15. FLOT EXAMPLES: TRACKING You can add crosshairs that'll track the mouse position, either on both axes or as here on only one. If you combine it with listening on hover events, you can use it to track the intersection on the curves by interpolating the data points (look at the legend). FLOT EXAMPLES: TIME AXES 1996-2000. Zoom to: 1999 by quarter. 1999 by month. Last week of 1999. Dec. 31, 1999. The timestamps must be specified as Javascript timestamps, as milliseconds since January 1, 1970 00:00. This is like Unix timestamps, but in milliseconds instead of seconds (remember to multiply with 1000!). FLOT EXAMPLES: STACKING With the stack plugin, you can have Flot stack the series. This is useful if you wish to display both a total and the constituents it ismade of.

FLOT REFERENCE
The placeholder is a jQuery object or DOM element or jQuery expression that the plot will be put into. This placeholder needs to have its width and height set as explained in the README (go read that now if you haven’t, it’s short). The plot will modify some properties of the placeholder so it’s recommended you simply pass in a div that you don’t use for anything else. FLOT EXAMPLES: BASIC OPTIONS There are plenty of options you can set to control the precise looks of your plot. You can control the ticks on the axes, the legend, thegraph type, etc.
FLOT PLUGINS
Plugin Repository. Since plugins were introduced in 0.6 they've generated a huge amount of interest from the community. In the future we plan to integrate with jQuery's new plugin repository, but for now this page provides a brief list of just a few of the plugins createdby the community.

FLOT EXAMPLES: SYMBOLS Points can be marked in several ways, with circles being the built-in default. For other point types, you can define a callback function todraw the symbol.
FLOT EXAMPLES: STACKING With the stack plugin, you can have Flot stack the series. This is useful if you wish to display both a total and the constituents it ismade of.
FLOT EXAMPLES: IMAGE PLOTS Image Plots. The Cat's Eye Nebula ( picture from Hubble ). With the image plugin, you can plot static images against a set of axes. This is for useful for adding ticks to complex prerendered visualizations. Instead of inputting data points, you specify the images and where their two opposite corners are supposed to be in plot space. FLOT EXAMPLES: INTERACTIVITY One of the goals of Flot is to support user interactions. Try pointing and clicking on the points. Show mouse position. A tooltip is easy to build with a bit of jQuery code and the data returned from the plot. FLOT EXAMPLES: THRESHOLDS With the threshold plugin, you can apply a specific color to the part of a data series below a threshold. This is can be useful for highlighting negative values, e.g. when displaying net results orwhat's in stock.

FLOT EXAMPLES: TIME ZONES Time zones. UTC. 16:00 20:00 00:00 04:00 08:00 12:00 16:00 20:00 0 530 10 15 20 25
FLOT EXAMPLES: GRAPH LEGEND Graph Legend. Legend Container: Legend Position SE - Over Graph SW - Over Graph NE - Over Graph NW - Over Graph FLOT EXAMPLES: MULTIPLE AXES Multiple axes. FLOT EXAMPLES: RESIZING Sometimes it makes more sense to just let the plot take up the available space. In that case, we need to redraw the plot each time the placeholder changes its size. JQUERY.FLOT.HOVER.JS jquery.flot.hover.js. This plugin is used for mouse hover and tap on a point of plot series. It supports the following options: It listens to native mouse move event or click, as well as artificial generated tap and touchevent. BUGS, PATCHES SUGGESTIONS Bugs in Flot can be reported on the issue tracker - _but please be polite and report only confirmed bugs and enhancements_. Unless you spot an obvious mistake in Flot or can produce a small self-contained test case reproducing the problem (ideally based on one of the examples), you are probably better off asking on the forums , which are watched by the development team and many other knowledgeable people. As for new features, you can open an issue or send a pull request on Github . Note that Flot is currently in a process of slimming the core in favour of placing the features in plugins, and new features should generally follow the same trend.WHO'S BEHIND THIS?
