Hidden away in Forvie Nature Reserve and only accessible by foot along a cliff path, Hackley Bay is a true hidden gem. This sandy beach is sheltered by cliffs and backed by high sand dunes, making it the perfect secret escape before a second stop in Balmedie to enjoy fish and chips on the golden shores of BalmedieBeach.

SCOTTISH ISLAND MOUNTAIN TRIATHLON IN MEMORY OF CLIMBER Childhood friends are taking on a self-created Scottish Island Mountain Triathlon in memory of climbing legend Martin Moran. It’s thought this is the first time that all 13 of the Scottish island Munros been attempted in a single non-stop push with the 300km and 7000m of ascent completed by running, cycling and swimming. The running race on September 11 will follow first section of the iconic West Highland Way, from Milngavie over Conic Hill to Balmaha and back to Milngavie. 20-YEAR-OLD MARC'S LAST MUNRO WALK ON CISTE DUBH I met Marc Patullo and his dad Gus in 2017 while walking the Liathach ridge in Torridon. This is a great walking or running route from Edenmill Farm Shop to Auchineden Spout and the via the shore of Kilmannan Reservoir to Burncrooks Reservoir and back down to Edenmill. You could do a shorter out-and-back walk from Edenmill to the waterfall. Start/finish: Edenmil Farm Shop car park.
