Main Visitor Center Features Trek Through Time Exhibit Hall. Trek Through Time is the indoor exhibit hall at our Main Visitor Center Complex on the east side of the Ridge. Many of our tracks and replica displays are for touching and exploring. LEARN MORE HISTORY & DISCOVERIES In 1877, some of the best-known dinosaurs were first discovered by Arthur Lakes, a professor at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. These included Apatosaurus; Stegosaurus, the Colorado State Fossil; and Allosaurus.These specimens represent animals that lived 150 million years ago in the Late Jurassic Period, also known as the “Age of Giants.” DINOSAUR RIDGE MASTER PLAN With an estimated 230,000 annual visitors at this globally significant site, a unified guiding document is long overdue. The Master Plan demonstrates a stakeholder-driven process that incorporates many facets of management, preservation and education into a cohesive product with strategic goals. Main Visitor Center Features Trek Through Time Exhibit Hall. Trek Through Time is the indoor exhibit hall at our Main Visitor Center Complex on the east side of the Ridge. Many of our tracks and replica displays are for touching and exploring. LEARN MORE REOPENING - DINOSAUR RIDGE Dinosaur Ridge reopened our Main Visitor Center grounds and doors to the community on May 9. Visitors can safely roam and run, learn and debate, and enjoy a National Natural Landmark in Denver’s backyard.
