Spend sunny mornings exploring woodlands, writing songs, journal writing, horseback riding or adventuring on zip lines. When we reach a camp in the Berkshires we know we have entered another world. Camps for kids offer intense hands-on experiences in art, performance and invention. Take a look behind the scenes at museums and art studios and in danceHIKES & WALKS
Hiking trails and walking paths cross the valley and sprint up the mountains. You can jaunt from a campground to a waterfall or take a daylong trip from the valley to the crest. For backpackers and through-hikers, families and birders, our ridges are open, and the possibilities are wide. For a gentle walk, paths like the Ashuwillticook Bike Trail, Stone Hill at the Clark Art Institute, andPARKS & PLAYGROUNDS
Wade in shallow water with smooth stone underfoot. Picnic inside a sculpture with a view of Mt. Greylock. Kids (and dogs!) run, climb, swim, and tire themselves out at recreation parks and outdoor playgrounds in the purple valley. Friendly trails run near frog ponds at Field Farm and Sheep Hill.
