FAIRVIEW HIGHSCHOOL GAME :: STORY VIEWER The Fairview Highschool Game is pure fiction. The name "Fairview" was chosen as it is a very popular name for high schools and is not intended to represent any one high school. Also, all of the situations, locations, and characters in the game are fictional. Any likeness or resemblance to persons, places, or anything else is strictly coincidental. DIVERGENT: CHOOSE YOUR FACTION > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM This is a roleplaying game based on Veronica Roth's Divergent. WARNING: This test is quite long. Have fun! HIGH SCHOOL ROMANCE > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM First page: “Hey, this is my first game.”. You know, I get why people put that there. In fact, I’m pretty sure I have used almost those exact words. But that actually gets old quite quickly. After all, this story appears to be 12 years old when I’m writing this comment, and it will just get older. WOLF'S STORY > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM This was riddled with errors, but for a first try and an animal perspective game, it was better than most WC fanfics, anyway. You still have plenty of room for improvement, James has some good points in his review, and I'd advise looking into the articles and studying the more popular games on the site to see what you can learn fromthem.
READ THREAD > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM Maybe, but again I might be wrong and maybe I didn't screw up the direction references and I'm just being paranoid. I'm fairly certain I didn't for this last path anyway and even if I did I can easily correct the mistakes when I'm finally putting in this part of thestory.
THE QUICK DATING GAME > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM The Quick Dating Game. a Love & Dating by Ogre11. Play the quick dating game and see if you can get the girl! I hope you have as much fun reading this as I did writing it. It was a lot of fun. This is my official entry for the contest, "Brevity, the Soul of Wit" for August, 2015. THE SURPRISE! > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM The surprise is that this is actually kinda good. I saw the length of the story is 2806 words, which is short compared to a lot of the stories here, so I was "surprised" when the story continued for a while on my first read-through. GROUND ZERO > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM Ground Zero is one of the stories that I read the first time I found this site and the one that impressed me the most at the time. It might even be considered the reason I kept returning to this site every few months rather than forgetting about it after closing the tab. FAIRVIEW HIGHSCHOOL GAME > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM Fairview Highschool Game. Welcome to the Fairview Highschool Game. Just as in everyday, you need to make important decisions to survive. This game is an accurate representation of day-to-day life in Fairview High School. Remember the wise words of The Wise One, before you pick a horse to ride on, be sure its not a bucking horse, a donkey, or a ETERNAL :: STORY VIEWER You don’t really understand it all, except that you know that the Emperor is always watching you. He is everywhere even if you don’t see him. He is keeping an eye on your actions and you must always obey his will, lest you be punished. You know this to be true because you have this repeatedly told to you. UNDEAD PERSONA > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM It started off great; a few typing errors here and there, a bit of confusion over who spoke, but a very interesting premise with rich and delightful characters. SURVIVE THE ZOMBIES > CHOOSEYOURSTORY.COM Survive the Zombies. Yep, another zombie game. No worries though, this one is different, it has phases. Also random deaths are rare (but still exist), use your head and you should be fine. NEWS AND UPDATES
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST YEAR Posted 2/2/2020 by mizal I know it's been said, but looking back over the past thirteen months really just underlines how many unexpectedly, astoundingly good stories you guys wrote. _Fifteen_ new features, or sixteen if you count the polished and republished version of Frameshift. Or you could even say eighteen, looking at the publishing of Azula and Zuko and Ciara's Game right at Christmas in 2018. Many of these are from relatively new members as well, which is even more impressive. 2019 was a such a great year for the site and with the community we have assembled here 2020 may be even better. With this thread I just wanted to take a moment to frame some of the best stories and hang them on the site's refrigerator next to the crayon drawings and turkey handprints, because even though I've sworn off adopting more internet children, and you're all much too competent to fit my...exacting criteria anyhow, you're still all very special and important to me. First off, the contest winners. We had most of these contests crammed into the final third of the year and a bunch of you proved you could write REALLY well under pressure. _______________ Corgi's Lord's of the Land: @Cricket with Sir Osis Gower's Ruins of a Dead Civilization: @Ninja with The Sanguine and Blackbeard's Cutlass Endmaster's Succubus: @Ogre with Hank's Journey Mizal's Lone Hero: @Pugpup1 with Father Leofwine is Dead. End
of Year: @Enterpride with A Treatise on Heartly Matters _______________ A few of these were also featured, but let me just launch into the big list now of all the games that have fought for sometimes difficult spots to be deserving of the extra attention that way. _______________ The Knight Order of the Golden Sun @RNDGamer When The Music's Over @Chris113022 Secret of the GrassPlanet
@Bill_Ingersoll Sabbatical Report Presentation @Gower The Daemonologists@pugpup1 Woban
Island @Bill_Ingersoll A Treatise on Heartly Manners @Enterpride Private Game for Natalie@Gower
Kelly Unicornstrider and Friends (1982-1985) Super Quiz @Gower The Book of Vanishing Tales @Camelon The Price of Freedom: Innocence Lost @Avery_Moore Twin Arrows@ninjapitka Edithe
Zilonis
@MadHattersDaughter Father Leofwine is Dead@pugpup1
The Sanguine and Blackbeard's Cutlass @ninjapitka And then we have Frameshift by @AzBaz,Azula and Zuko by
@WouldntItBeNice, and Ciara's Game by @simplesabley. _______________ As you will notice, there's a few names that appear multiple times. Not only is that kind of output just plain impressive on its own, but most of them joined in 2018 or later. In many ways 2019 was the year of the noobs outperforming the regulars. (If you're a long time member, yes, I'm singling you out: feel bad.) Now, the featured games are selected by admins from well received games, as it right and proper, but I also decided to do a little experiment in democracy this year. Authors nominated the following games for consideration to be titled the BEST of 2019, as chosen by popular vote: _______________ Secret of the Grass PlanetEdithe
Zilonis Private Gamefor Natalie
When the
Music's Over The Chronomantic Adventures of Professor Gower: OfficeHours
A Pixie Danced
Ineptitude 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO Landslide _______________ The end tally of votes was as follows: PGfN 5 WtMO 3 SoGP 2 EdZi 2 Although I'm more of a Kelly fan, that makes Natalie the winner of the CYS Choice award. Congrats Gower! Apparently the people just loooove your creepy stalker side. Of course the disappointing number of votes sent in and the general lack of discussion in the actual discussion thread (tbh I'm not even certain everyone who voted read all the games...) proves once again that democracy doesn't work. Next year's CYS Choice award will be chosen by myself or a small channel of elite judges, same as for other contests. Trouble yourselves in these confusing matters no more, peasants. Return to your fields. It's easier this way. BUT, while you're out there, takes some time to exercise your privilege as actually literate peasants. Relax in your thatched hut and read some of these stories. Most of the contest winners were up against some serious competition and the authors were working in a very limited time frame to turn out gold. And as for the featured stories, there's eighteen and everything, you can spend as much time getting to know them as you like and it's not weird or illegal or anything. Authors have put a lot of work into creating these worlds and characters and offering them to CYS readers for free, and so maybe take a little time to enjoy them, and rate and review to let them know. (Just a note to readers, if you're on a PC, I recommend stopping by BradinDvorak'sprofile and
installing the extension for Firefox or Chrome. It just makes reading more comfortable with an option for dark mode and some formatting changes, plus has the helpful side effect of turning all the names with @ next to them up there into clickable links to profiles, many of which contain even _more_ good games!) YEAR'S END CONTEST RESULTS Posted 1/13/2020 by Bucky The site got two featured stories and several other quality stories out of the contest. Officially deemed a success. WINNER: Enterpride - A Treatise on Heartly Matters 2ND PLACE: Camelon - The Book of Vanishing Tales 3RD PLACE: Shadowdrake27 - Merlin: Origins All the first place votes went to either Camelon (3) or Enterpride (2). Enterpride and Shadow made every judge card. Cricket had no way of knowing this, but Cricket's card helped us avoid another tie. Golf clap for Cricket. My next contest (late 2020) will have a tie breaker in the rules. We can discuss what that will be inabout 10 months.
In other news, Mara no longer gets to complain that she can't attain a good story rating. And let us not forget, corgi and coins are lazy; Digit didn't write about Snow. And Ford outperformed all three ofthem.
