Bear Creek Park. Carmel and Clay Township residents will soon have a new park to explore in northwest Carmel! On September 3, we officially acquired nearly 27 acres of land near 146th Street and Shelborne Road. Acquiring land for a park in northwest Carmel was a top priority of CCPR’s 2020-2024 Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan. SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS Our programs cover the basics and beyond including math, engineering, science and technology programs ranging from coding to robotics. We offer science & technology programs for all ages (4 years to adult) to build foundational skills and then put them into action building, creating and exploring.HAGAN-BURKE TRAIL
Hagan-Burke Trail. The Hagan-Burke Trail is a 1.4-mile paved trail. It starts with a connection on the north side of the Monon Greenway and heads northeast to 146th Street. The trail is named after Judy Hagan and Ed Burke, who both served on many different Carmel councils and have been devoted to the City of Carmel community for many years. This 5-acre park was originally developed from 1997-1998 and was fully reimagined in 2020. Carey Grove Park. Located on the Eastside of Carey Road just south of 146th Street in Carmel, Carey Grove Park is a beloved neighborhood park. This 5-acre park was originally developed from 1997-1998 and was fully reimagined in 2020. The park is home to a playground, year-round bathrooms, permanent outdoor exercise equipment, resurfaced trails LAWRENCE W. INLOW PARK Lawrence W. Inlow Park was established in 2000 – 2001 and quickly became a summer hot spot. This 16-acre park has lots for the kids. There is a huge water spray feature where kids can play while staying cool. ABOUT CARMEL CLAY PARKS & RECREATION We manage and maintain more than 500 park acres and numerous recreation facilities, including the Monon Community Center and The Waterpark. In addition, we have partnered with Carmel Clay Schools to establish Extended School Enrichment (ESE), a before and after-school care program for K-6 students located at all 11 Carmel elementary schools.
