In our fast-paced society it can be hard to slow down, and easy to ignore COMMUNITY HUBS: WHERE COMMUNITY HAPPENS This is why United Way partnered with The City of Calgary and Rotary Clubs of Calgary to develop Community Hubs in five Calgary neighbourhoods, and works with numerous organizations and programs to ensure all the supports and services needed are provided. For example, the Community Mobile Market, a partnership between The City of Calgary and Leftovers Foundation, sells fruits, vegetables and SENIORS AND TECH: HOW SENIORS USED TECHNOLOGY TO FEEL LESS In the wake of the pandemic, the “digital divide” has become even more evident. As many programs and services shifted online, access to technology emerged as a basic need—as critical to staying safe as food and shelter, especially for seniors.FINANCIAL REPORTS

GAIN TEAM + CAPACITY BUILDING The GAIN Team offers sustainable and no-cost solutions at a time of increased demand for services due to the influence of a turbulent economy, shifting donor preferences, and the impact of COVID-19. The GAIN Team is ready to partner with agencies to provide short-term urgent support as well as longer-term restructuring and capacitybuilding.

COVID-19 COMMUNITY RESPONSE FUND The COVID-19 Community Response Fund, a collaboration between United Way of Calgary and Area and The City of Calgary (including the Calgary Emergency Management Agency) was a city-wide effort to ensure that social service agencies in Calgary and area could quickly provide emergency funds to the most vulnerable people in our community.
