Bucky on Parade was a free public art event featuring 85 life-size Bucky Badger statues throughout Madison and Dane County May 7–September 12, 2018. Statue Locations. The following list is based on information received from the statue owners so far. Please note that locations could change if owners decide to move their statue, and some statues may be indoors and only accessible during business hours. Mifflin St., Suite 200). Open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Entries will not be accepted after Friday at 5 p.m. Winners will be chosen and notified on Monday UNIQUELY MADISON ITINERARY Bucky on Guard. Bucky on Guard is guarding all the traditions, treasures, and landmarks of Madison. This design was given life in a middle school art studio in Merrill, WI. The students were able to watch their teacher’s progress and be involved in the excitement and community aspect of Bucky on Parade, even from over 100 miles away. Behind the Design: Lucky Bucky is made of 11,759 Lincoln pennies with all of the pennies being heads up, with a few exceptions. One of each type of Lincoln penny is showing the tail side-Wheat, Lincoln Memorial, Lincoln Bicentennial, 2009 (4 designs), and Union Shield. Behind the Design: This statue honors all the brave members of our armed forces. The artist used her friend Brian’s 32nd Infantry arm insignia on Bucky. Behind the Design: Lucky Bucky is made of 11,759 Lincoln pennies with all of the pennies being heads up, with a few exceptions. One of each type of Lincoln penny is showing the tail side-Wheat, Lincoln Memorial, Lincoln Bicentennial, 2009 (4 designs), and Union Shield. Behind the Design: This statue honors all the brave members of our armed forces. The artist used her friend Brian’s 32nd Infantry arm insignia on Bucky. Behind the Design: Lucky Bucky is made of 11,759 Lincoln pennies with all of the pennies being heads up, with a few exceptions. One of each type of Lincoln penny is showing the tail side-Wheat, Lincoln Memorial, Lincoln Bicentennial, 2009 (4 designs), and Union Shield. WHAT IS BUCKY ON PARADE? Bucky on Parade was a free public art event featuring 85 life-size Bucky Badger statues throughout Madison and Dane County May 7–September 12, 2018. Local and regional artists transformed these Bucky statues into unique works of art. The Madison Area Sports Commission produced the event, with support from the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin Athletics, and Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association.
