With a pressing need for more UK housing stock the construction industry is looking to capitalise on advances in smart construction including: volumetric constructions, sub-assemblies, components, pods, panelised systems, site-based MMC and on-site efficiency methods. Following the tragic fire that occurred at Grenfell Tower in June 2017, BRE Global were asked by DCLG to contact all of our customers who had tested and achieved BR 135 classifications for their external cladding systems. Where permission to publish details of a cladding system has been granted by the customer, this document ASSESSING CRACKS IN HOUSES 4 - Extensive damage, cracks 15 to 25mm. Extensive damage which requires breaking-out and replacing sections of walls, especially over doors and windows. Windows and door frames distorted, floor sloping noticeably. Walls leaning or bulging noticeably, some loss of bearing in beams. Service pipes disrupted. CONVENTIONS FOR U-VALUE CALCULATIONS iii This document is published in memory of Brian Anderson , the author of the 2002 and 2006 editions of this document. Dr Brian Anderson was the lead author for the original BR 443 – Conventions for U-values, and the REAQUA GREY WATER RECYCLING reAqua Grey Water Recycling. A reAqua grey water recovery system collects waste water from the first floor bathroom’s shower, bath and basin and treats the water so it can be used for toilet flushing. Heat is recovered from the waste water and used to pre-heat the water in the hot water cylinder.
