FRED BLAND RECEIVES LUCY G. MOSES PRESERVATION AWARD Peg Breen, President of The New York Landmarks Conservancy, concluded the 2021 Lucy G. Moses Awards ceremony by conferring the Award for Public Leadership in Preservation to Partner Emeritus Fred Bland, FAIA, AICP.. The Conservancy works to preserve and protect the unique architectural heritage of New York City, from the smallest buildings to the most extraordinary landmarks. THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM The existing library was comprised of three historic landmarks: the original, turn-of-the-century McKim Mead & White building; the 1928 library annex; and an 1853 brownstone mansion known as The Morgan House. The expansion knits the campus together through the construction of a 72,000 SF modern, skylit atrium, which extends fourstories below

TWA FLIGHT CENTER RESTORATION TWA Flight Center Restoration. BBB’s restoration of The TWA Flight Center at JFK International Airport prepares an icon of modern architecture for future adaptive reuse. TWA FLIGHT CENTER RESTORATION TWA Flight Center Restoration. BBB’s restoration of The TWA Flight Center at JFK International Airport prepares an icon of modern architecture for future adaptive reuse. Designed by Eero Saarinen and opened in 1962, the TWA Flight Center is a symbol of both the expressive idealism of the 1960s and of Saarinen’s innovativegenius.
GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL As a result of the master plan and preservation studies, BBB embarked upon two major projects at the Terminal. NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, BUILDING 1 The original Newark Airport terminal building, constructed in 1935 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a seminal structure in the early history of US aviation. Deemed too small for continued operations by the end of WWII, the building was soon replaced and fell into disuse. THE WATCHCASE FACTORY IN THE WHALING VILLAGE The relationship between the factory and nearby houses is a significant part of Sag Harbor’s history.
