‘DA SILVA BROKERS ART HOUSE’: ANTON STEENBOCK AT ‘Da Silva Brokers Art House’ is the newest multimedia art installation by artist Anton Steenbock, presented at Weserhalle. The exhibition offers a critical look at the housing situation in Berlin by turning artworks into commodity capital in order to bypass the rent freeze (Mietpreisbremse). OPEN CALL FOR BERLIN MASTERS 2021 Feb. 26, 2021. Berlin Masters is pleased to invite all artists, aged 33 and younger, who live and work in Berlin, to apply to this year’s open call. The presentation of finalists will take place from Apr. 27 to May 22, 2021 inside the vitrines of KaDeWe. The exhibition will offer artists the greatest possible visibility, regardless of any STUDIO + HOUSING RENTALS Studio + Housing Rentals. The following is a selected list of local artist studio rental websites provided for art professionals who would like to independently visit and work in Berlin and housing rental. OPEN CALL FOR ARTIST RESIDENCY AT SCHLOSS RINGENBERG The three-month residency starts on September 1st and ends on November 30th, 2021. Artists who take up a residential studio at the castle are asked to stay in Ringenberg for the duration of the residency. Co-producers and invited experts who do not, can make temporary use of a guest apartment by arrangement. TRANSMEDIALE LAUNCHES YEAR-LONG FESTIVAL WITH DIGITAL This year’s festival includes exhibitions, screenings, discourse programs, as well as workshops, commissions and residencies. Alongside the digital program, transmediale’s physical exhibition, ‘Rendering Refusal’ will be available to the public as soon as it is permissible to visit in-person. BLURRING ARCHITECTURE IN GOOGLE When Google Street View (GSV) launched in Germany in 2010, the country’s privacy laws allowed citizens to request that their homes be blurred. More than 244,000 residents had already submitted requests, proving for artist Tim Tetzner an important aspect of his country’s culture.BERLIN ART LINK
