Teacher salaries across Canada BC has a teacher shortage that is negatively affecting student learning. Our new teachers have the second-lowest starting salaries in the country, and all of our members receive far less than our colleagues in Alberta and Ontario. With BC's high cost of living, it's no wonder BC is having a hard time recruiting teachers from otherprovinces.
