CSA GRAVE MARKER
Our Company had a foundry from the mid 1800's till the mid 1950's. one of our products was Confederate Grave Markers. I am fortunate enough t have one of them that was saved from the foundry closing. Someone years ago painted it with a burnt-orange paint IN THE SPEECH BY PUT FORTH BY JOHN H. REAGAN WHAT Read the following two documents titled “Why the South Seceded” and “Secession Speech” For context, the first article (Why the South Seceded) is an address given in 1903 by a former Confederate cabinet member defending the cause of secession. "RECIPES FROM THE CONFEDERACY" Our United Daughters of the Confederacy chapter put together a small recipe book to share with other chapters in our state. I will enclose several recipes for those of you who like to cook recipes from this period. A little background: Their grandfather, also named "Noah Prince", was a Revolutionary War Veteran from Plymouth, MASS who moved to VA in the 1790's and then to Athens, GA in the 1820's. He died in Monroe, GA in the 1830's.TIGHTEN A HILT

SMOOTHBORE VS RIFLED MUSKETS...DID THEY REALLY MAKE THAT The Weapons. The smoothbore musket is accurate to maybe 50 yards when aimed. A round ball fired from a smooth barrel is fairly unstable and just not very accurate. At over 50 or so yards hitting a target becomes as much a matter of luck as skill. I AM Yep, Cloth dyed with true butternut dye (made from the bark of the Butternut tree AKA White Walnut) will vary from yellow to dark brown depending,I would assume, on the strength of the dye. HOW DO YOU FIND OUT IF A SLAVE TAG IS AUTHENTIC? I HAVE A How do you find out if a slave tag is authentic? I have a 1842 Blue Lick Horse Farm Slave tag, who can authenticate this for me. I live in Oregon. I inherited this from my father and he had it appraised at one time but I do not have papers for that only his hand written note that it was worth $4000 to $6000.
