MUSIC PROJECT
Personalized Music for People Living with Dementia. The Alzheimer Society Music Project reconnects people with the soundtrack of their lives by providing MP3 players loaded with personalized music to people living with dementia. Listening to personalized music can be a powerful activity for those with dementia: music has the potential to increase physical and social activity; reignite older GENTLE PERSUASIVE APPROACHES GPA is an innovative dementia care education curriculum based on a person-centred care approach. Designed for interdisciplinary point of care staff across healthcare sectors, GPA is delivered as four modules over a 7.5-hour day. The session is evidence-based, interactive and practical. Caregiver Project Blair 2019-05-30T15:29:56-04:00. The Caregiver Project for Seniors is operated by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, but is a non-disease specific program, meaning that the caregiver may be providing care to an individual with any kind of disability or physical/medical need. ADULT ADHD: RISK FACTOR FOR DEMENTIA OR PHENOTYPIC MIMIC Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) often present with similar cognitive complaints, such as difficulties with controlling attention and impulses. As a result, many older adults with ADHD can be misdiagnosed as having MCI rather than ADHD.
