ABOUT US | ADAPTIVE SPORTS CENTER The Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) is a 501 (C) 3 organization, founded in 1987 as the Crested Butte Physically Challenged Ski Program. A small but passionate group of residents spearheaded the program with the intent of providing ski instruction and equipment to individuals with disabilities on their home mountain. In that first year, 33 participants received lessons from an all-volunteer staff.REGISTRATION

The Community Kids Program is a much-needed, unduplicated program for Gunnison County youth with disabilities. This program engages local children with disabilities in outdoor recreation. By participating in successful outdoor activities the community kids incorporate physical activity into their daily lives, and they develop confidence and communication skills.FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Outdoor recreation is something best experienced with others. Providing lessons for people with disabilities, as well as their family and close friends* plays an incredibly important role in providing the most therapeutic and phenomenal experience possible. The Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) offers scholarships for activities for individuals in need of financial assistance. All activities provided by the ASC are done at reduced cost but we strive to provide programming for all regardless of financial situation. We ask that you please pay what you can and only ask for what you need to help our scholarship fund stretch and stay available to everyone FINANCIALS AND ACCREDITATION The Adaptive Sports Center is a 501 (C) 3 organization. Our federal tax ID number is 84-1063447. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Hailing from the plains of Illinois, Allison moved to the mountains of Colorado in 2005 to work as ASC's Development Director after working in development for a men's homeless shelter and the YMCA. In 2008, she left the ASC to build the first development office at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.
