I can’t believe I ever had a time in my life where (NOT)COFFEE MUSHROOM COFFEE ALTERNATIVE 2. Whisk it all together until uniformly mixed. 3. If making a mug now, boil 1–2 cups water and if you like, blend together the Coconut-Macadamia Latte Foam ingredients until creamy and frothy. 4. Add 1 teaspoon of your (Not)Coffee mix into a mug and add boilingwater.
SOAKING AND DEHYDRATING NUTS, LEGUMES, GRAINS AND SEEDS Dry nuts usually yield about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup more when soaked. To soak nuts, seeds, legumes and grains, dissolve 1 tsp sea salt in a bowl of 2-3 cups of pure, warm water. Add your ingredients. Make sure there is enough water to cover them about 2 inches. Follow the guidelines above for soaking times. RED LENTIL BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE 1. Peel and thinly slice (or mince, cook’s choice) entire shallot. 2. 8-year-old-I-hate-all-veggies-and-will-sit-at-the-dinner-table-all-night-long-in-defiance girl inside me is so rolling her eyes over the fact that I’m writing up a post about beets. And not just any beets, fermented beets! But she better learn to respect her elders because they know what time it is. I can’t believe I ever had a time in my life where SOAKING AND DEHYDRATING NUTS, LEGUMES, GRAINS AND SEEDS Dry nuts usually yield about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup more when soaked. To soak nuts, seeds, legumes and grains, dissolve 1 tsp sea salt in a bowl of 2-3 cups of pure, warm water. Add your ingredients. Make sure there is enough water to cover them about 2 inches. Follow the guidelines above for soaking times. RED LENTIL BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE 1. Peel and thinly slice (or mince, cook’s choice) entire shallot. 2. In a skillet heated to medium-low, add 1–2 teaspoons of preferred oil, and shallots. Cook 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until starting to brown. 3. Then, make a well in the center of the skillet, add a touch more oil and add garam masala. BEESWAX WRAPS WITH A VEGAN OPTION AND A FREE BEESWAX Lay onto parchment-lined baking sheet and place in oven for 5 minutes for wax to infuse into fabric. Remove from oven and check for any dry spots. If you see some, sprinkle with a little wax and pop back in the oven for a few minutes. Once removed quickly lift up LOVE & LEMONS ROASTED CAULIFLOWER TACOS WITH CHIPOTLE Directions: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the cauliflower and drizzle with olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to combine. The oregano bush is as big as a tree and the rosemary just laughs at the oregano, calling it “puny” in comparison. The thyme is creeping over the planter and the dill is rivaling the sunflowers. I usually break up the drive back into 2 days, but I was missing home so I set out in the morning, downloaded Patti Smith’s “Just Kids” and listened all the way through until I pulled up to my house at midnight. Road weariness and the hour couldn’t keep me from opening my car door, having a quick stretch, and going straight into the yard to see how all my planty babes were doing (thanks for the light, full moon ). After walking through about 3 spider webs, I could see that the magnolia was blooming again, the dahlias had staved off the groundhog and had a few buds showing, and the sunflowers were taller than me and had bloomed! In the morning I was out there again first thing, sans shoes, and realized quickly that I had some serious weeding to do, but it didn’t diminish all the miracles that had shown up in my absence. I celebrated them by making up a “Sunshine Tea” the first day home... the color captures how I feel here. Steps in my Stories highlight“Beverages.”
