UPDATE: SUBWAY SERVICE RESUMES FROM JANE TO OSSINGTON AFTER TTCDERAILMENT
TTC COMMITTED 'TO FINDING THE ROOT CAUSE TO AVOID A REPEAT' News Jan 22, 2020 by Aaron D'Andrea__ Toronto.com

People scramble around an eastbound bus along Bloor Street West at Jane Street Wednesday morning. TTC commuters line up to catch surface vehicles while portions of Line 2 of the subway system were shut down due to a problem. - Rick Madonik/Toronto Star Full subway serviced has resumed on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington stations after a subway train car leaving a TTC yard partiallyderailed.
TTC spokesperson Stuart Green said on Twitter the cause of Wednesday morning's derailment is under investigation. “This was a bad morning for our customers traveling into and out of the west end and for that we apologize,” he wrote. “Thankfully, subway derailments, even partial ones, are rare, but we commit to finding the root cause to avoid a repeat.” > Service on Line 2 has resumed. The city transit agency tweeted about the incident just after 6 a.m.on Jan. 22.
It occurred near Keele yard in the city’s west end. One of the middle cars of a train partially derailed. The train was not in service at the time. > No TTC service between Jane and Ossington 🥺 > pic.twitter.com/K2lAIpIJyH>

The derailment forced the TTC to close Line 2 between Jane and Ossington for several hours as crews worked on repairs. As a result, thousands of commuters took to the 100 shuttle buses dispatched or were seen walking on the street. Toronto police temporarily closed Bloor Street West between Royal York Road and Jane Street because the road was so congested with pedestrian traffic. The only vehicles allowed on the street were shuttle buses. > Another day in paradise!>
