MIAMI — The 49ers’ downtown hotel was not evacuated in the wake of Tuesday’s 7.7 earthquake that struck near Jamaica and was felt by some here, according to a team spokesman. Other nearby buildings were evacuated, and reportedly some guests of the 49ers’ hotel did indeed walk outside after the afternoon shaker. The 49ers arrived in Miami less than 48 hours earlier, and they did not practice Tuesday after going through a 45-minute, walk-through-pace practice on Monday at the University of Miami inCoral Gables.
Super Bowl LIV will be held Sunday about 15 miles north of downtown at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. When the 49ers were last in a Super Bowl seven years ago, a power outage resulted in a 34-minute delay in an eventual 34-31 loss to theBaltimore Ravens.
