Photograph By Aberdeen mall The general manager of Aberdeen Mall said she hasn’t heard anything concrete about the future of the shopping centre’s Carlton Cards outlet, despite multiple media reports indicating the company behind the chain is closing all of its North American stores within weeks. Stories published online by CTV and Global News quote a statement from Dominique Schurman, CEO of Schurman Retail Group, saying each of the 76 Carlton Cards and Papyrus locations in Canada will be shuttered: “Despite our Herculean efforts to realign our Papyrus and American Greetings stores to fit today's shopping environment, Schurman Retail Group had to make the difficult decision to close all 254 of our stores in North America.”__

According to the stories by CTV and Global, the stores will close within four to six weeks. Carlton Cards’ parent company is quoted in those reports saying the cards will continue to be produced and sold at third-party stores, aswell as online.
