Netflix
It seemed as though _To All the Boys I've Loved Before_ was the talkof the town
when the charming rom-com arrived on Netflix in 2018. With the sequelto the hit movie
set to arrive
on Wednesday,
Netflix is offering non-subscribers the chance to see what all the fuss is about -- without having to sign up. The movie will be available to everyone in the US and some other markets until March 9th. It's not the first time Netflix has offered a free look at some of its originals: it made the first episode of _The Crown_ season 3 available to everyone in the UK last year, and it has tried similar tactics with shows in India and South America to lure in subscribers. It appears this is the first time Netflix has adopted this strategy for an original movie Stateside, though. Those who've heard their friends and relatives talk about _TATBILB _can check it out even if they aren't a Netflix member. Netflix hopes they'll enjoy it enough to sign up to check out _To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You _as well.Source: Netflix (1)

I'm cool with it for now, but when the articles start extolling the virtues of AI overlords versus the inferiority of the mushy human brain .. that's when it's time run. ------------------------- The LAFD will operate the first electric fire truck in North Americanext year

There's a fire station every few miles in greater LA (a wonderful piece of safety civil infrastructure to have), so it'll never be rolling very far, but that's not the point. We have public buses going to electric propulsion, semis, and other vehicles. It's inevitable emergency vehicles will follow the same path. No one should be surprised by this. Th price? All early adopters who pull the trigger are affected by this, prices eventually settle down through massusage.

The Game Streaming services are being reported and hyped up more than they are being used. Just because every tech blog writes articles about them doesn't mean they're appealing.Stadia as an example was a flop that I saw coming months in advance. It doesn't take too large of a leap to look at what technologies like Steam Link can do, and then just watch the numbers, and compare. Their marketing turned out to be totally false because they knew it wouldn't appeal to the hardcore, so they had to make up BS like Negative Latency and then fail to deliver, because of the laws of Physics.Just because a service like this didn't include DRM, doesn't make it a conversation, because the people who care about DRM aren't necessarily interested in the service to begin with. In my case, I have a powerhouse PC, so I have no reason to even try streaming my games, so I'm not the target market, and I despise DRM on every level. I was also not included in the debate, nor was I asked if I am to be included in this hyperbolic We're all kinda fine with DRM now statement.DRM is different than Steam too. SecuROM and now Denuvo are the actual culprits that cause such vitriol in gamers/consumers. When we have side by side footage of a game losing 20% of it's frame rate with Denuvo turned on, meanwhile a pirate 2 days later no only gets the game free, but with better performance as well, it's anti-consumer on every level. Steam wins because it's a better option than piracy. ------------------------- Billie Eilish proved anyone can access Grammy-winning gearSuperAdam

I am 36 so maybe I am out of the loop when it comes to what is cool or dope music but this Grammy had a few head scratchers and this Album Of The Year is one of them, I tried to listen to her album and to me it was just awful, like I think I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard than this, but again, I am not a teenager anymore so maybe my taste does not fit the trend of today's kids. ------------------------- Andy Rubin's Essential is shutting downAxl

As I understand Geforce Now, you are still using services like Steam to buy these games, and are playing them on Nvidia computers esentially. The only different is you are playing the computer on a remote device. Not that I would want to, but how in the hell could Blizzard prohibit me from playing a game on my computer at home over a VNC connection? Because in the end, thats pretty much the same idea asGeforce Now.

Apple usually has their current line, the previous line, and a budget offering. Not really sure what the Note offers at this point, sure, it made more sense when the regular flagships were smaller and the Note was the large one. Now they’re all mostly large. The new flip form factor is cool, the new one is a big improvement just six months after the first gen, and will continue to improve. ------------------------- Why Clearview AI is a threat to us allrichiemoe

I have a drivers license, so my picture is already on record. I have FB, so there are pictures there. Pretty much unless this falls into the hands of a socialist leader who wants to control and track people, we are ok.......... Which is kind of scary, as someday the DNC will win again and want to track every legal firearm owner....But, i do find comfort that this system will help more than it could hurt. Find missing people. Stop bad people from doing things. Are these just growing pains to something that is inevitable, and there are no standards yet? Or is this a necessary evil? Believe it or not, but this is only what we know about being used by government agencies. Imagine the stuff they are using that they don't want us to know about.... Maybe once AI becomes more useful, everything is ran through that, rather than people who could use it for the wrong reasons? Maybe there simply needs to be a better checks and balance system?I use facial recognition software at home. Going through thousands of pictures is difficult. Scanning faces to bring up pictures of a loved one that just passed away, to print pictures for a funeral? Many great uses for facial technology! ------------------------- UK wants telecoms regulator to police social media companiesWaylonis

I always proclaimed this as my favourite film. As films based-on-true-events go, the accuracy Ron Howard insisted upon was incredible - down to the stickers within the CM. And to think that any weightless scenes were filmed in a set built inside a plane flying a parabolic path, makes it that much more remarkable,... in a day in age where space films still have obvious CGI weightlessness to them. Not sure if I'll go to a theatre to watch it though.... I may just pop it on my home theater for a more personal screening feel ;-) ------------------------- Activists form nonprofit to fight gig worker exploitationAxel
