ARRESTO DE CONTAS DE ISABEL DOS SANTOS EM PORTUGAL: “EXCELENTE NOTÍCIA CONTRA A CORRUPÇÃO” Organizações pela transparência em Portugal elogiaram o congelamento das contas de Isabel dos Santos e de pessoas ligadas empresária angolana: "Medida necessária, mas já devia ter sidotomada”.
Isabel dos Santos teve contas congeladas em Portugal Organizações da sociedade civil saudaram o congelamento dos bens de mais de 30 contas de Isabel dos Santos em bancos do país. O marido da empresária angolana, Sindika Dokolo, sua sócia, Paula Oliveria, e seus advogados, Mário Leite da Silva e Jorge Brito Pereira, também tiveram contas arrestadas. O montante em causa mantem-se em segredo de justiça. A Transparência e Integridade – Associação Cívica (TIAC Portugal) considera que esta é "uma excelente notícia para Angola” e "uma boa notícia para a luta contra a corrupção em Portugal”. A diretora executiva da organização, Karina Carvalho, considera que a decisão indica que os "acordos de cooperação” entre Portugal e Angola "estão a dar frutos”. Para Carvalho, são "sinais que essa cooperação está ativa e a funcionar, mas é importante que ela se estenda para além de Isabel dos Santos”. A integrante da TIAC Portugal acha que se trata de um "bom sinal”, a circunstância das contas estarem congeladas, mas é importante garantir que o proveito da venda das participações de Isabel dos Santos em Portugal não reverta para ela própria, que retorne a Angola e aos angolanos. "Eu acho que é importante igualmente garantir que situações como esta não aconteçam no futuro, e que o Banco de Portugal - enquanto entidade de supervisão - consiga de uma forma definitiva estabilizar os mecanismos de controlo e de supervisão de forma a que pessoas politicamente expostas não possam continuar a roubar ilicitamente os fundos dos seus países”, disse. PROCEDIMENTOS IMORAIS Os prejuízos causados por Isabel dos Santos aos cofres do Estado angolano rondam 2 mil milhões de euros, segundo o Supremo Tribunal de Angola. O integrante da Plataforma de Reflexão Angola, Manuel Dias dos Santos, considera que se trata de uma decisão que deveria ter sido tomada há muito tempo. Dias dos Santos acredita que é uma forma de prevenir que ativos sejam transferidos para fora do território português. "Um dos grandes dramas deste tipo de circunstâncias é a forma como os capitais podem facilmente fluir de um espaço geográfico para outro. Acho que esta medida é para todos os efeitos uma medida necessária e que, no meu ponto de vista e do ponto de vista da Plataforma de Reflexão, já devia ter sido tomada”, considera o ativista. Dias dos Santos questiona os meios usados pelo Estado angolano para a recuperação dos capitais que, segundo ele, estariam a ser transferidos para o exterior de forma "imoral". "Será a forma como institucionalmente o Estado angolano vai procurar chegar a esses recursos saídos do país que vai determinar aquilo que serão ações futuras ou não”, disse.Voltar 10 segundos
