12.05.2013 um 20:48 Dear users, For quite some time already, activity on WoG.com has been minimal, and the English WoG-forums have also seen a steady decrease in activity. As much as it saddens us, the moderator team does not see this trend changing, especially with the uncertain future of the Gothic franchise. The administrators of World Of Players have been going through sites with little or no activity with the intent to archive some of those sites, and close their forums. It did not come as a surprise to us moderators that the English World of Gothic was on this list. It also did not take us a long time to reach a consensus on the fact that when the only way to "save" WoG-eng would be increased activity not only on the forums, but especially on the website, there really is no realistic way to do this. I know many members of the English community have foreseen this coming, and that it as such won't come as a surprise to you. Others might have hoped for a resurrection or renaissance of the community (and the franchise), but those hopes were in vain. It's certainly with no small amount of sadness that we announce that WoG-eng will very soon come to its end; it is only a matter of days until the site will be archived, and the forum will remain open for a short while longer (until May, or so). After that, the forum will be closed. Both the website and the forum discussions will still be available for reading, however there will be no new activity on them. The few english users that are active on the English World of Gothic forums can still communicate in Off-Topic English forums around the World of Players network (for example Pirate's Pawned Pegleg Pub in the World of Risen area) and for related Gothic Discussions, the German team has kindly stated that we are more than welcome to open english threads on

that side.

Despite its steady decline in the past few years, there was a time when WoG-eng was a welcoming, vibrant and friendly gathering place for friends of this awesome RPG series. It was never a huge community, but in some way perhaps that was part of its strength and attraction; it was large enough for rich discussion, but still small enough for everyone to "know" everyone else. People have connected to other people and, in some cases, forged bonds of friendship that extent beyond the forum, and I'm sure many of us who've been here for years have fond memories of the forums. But all things come to an end. And this is the end of WoG-eng as we know it. Thank you for these years and for the fun times. THE GOTHIC 3 ORC MOD 02.07.2012 um 21:12 Joey1990 is one of our most active G3-mod makers, and well known for his Gothic 3 and Forsaken Gods Content mods. Now he has once again delivered an impressive piece of work: The G3-Orc Mod, released in its latest

version 2.1.

His new mod adapts the orcs in Gothic 3 to the orcs in Gothic 2, by changing the optics and the equipment. During the creation of the mod he tried to stay true to the Gothic style. The models of the G3-orcs got changed as much as was possible, by removing certain parts and adding other/old ones. For example, the orcs now wear the old shoulder plates and their «usual» body hair. Also some of the old orc weapons are introduced. They were adapted for Gothic 3 by changing the models and textures. As a result, they do no longer appear so angular and rough around the edges. In addition, the sounds that the orcs make in Gothic 2 can now also be heard in Gothic 3. For all those of you who always wanted the old type of orcs in Gothic 3, this mod is a must-have! To play Gothic 3 with the orcmod one must install the following components in the correct order:

GOTHIC 3 COMMUNITY PATCH 1.75 RELEASED! 28.04.2012 um 14:13 During the last months The Community Patch Team (Mad Vulture Games) has been working on a patch for Gothic 3, which is now finished. The patch with the description "Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition 1.75" is available for download. It can be installed on every Gothic 3 version, is available for each language and contains all previous patches. Compared to the previous patch (1.74) CP 1.75 offers widescreen support for the menues, new graphics options (like color grading or FXAA) and decreasing of stuttering by using a shader cache. In addition to this the patch includes a ModKit. Using that ModKIt there are possibilities to change or create new game contents in limited ways. There were also more possibilities added for modders. GOTHIC 3 ENHANCED GOLD EDITION AND GOTHIC COMPLETE COLLECTION ANNOUNCED 12.03.2012 um 00:38 Nordic Games gave out a press release announcing that they've made a deal with Piranha Bytes to release two new Gothic

bundle packs:

A Gothic 3 Enhanced Gold Edition that includes "Gothic 3 and Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods in extensively improved editions", as well as a Gothic Complete Collection that includes every Gothic game and expansion to

date.

This silence has been interpretated by some fans as a lack of enthusiasm from Piranha bytes for making another Gothic game. GameBanshee has now published an interview with Björn Pankratz from Piranha Bytes. The main topic is Risen 2 of course. * Discussion in our forum NEW AND LAST PATCH FOR GOTHIC 3 FORSAKEN GODS ENHANCED EDITION RELEASED 21.12.2011 um 22:33 Shortly before Christmas the Community Patch Team (CPT), also known as "Mad Vulture Games" has released their last patch for the Enhanced Edition of Forsaken Gods. The patch has been produced in collaboration with Nordic Games and solves a number of bugs, including a few important ones, which were present in the Enhanced Edition. The patch has not been released until today, because the team has enjoyed a well-deserved break after their work on the Enhanced Edition. The perseverance of the team is truly remarkable! In the german WoG forum RoiDanton of the CPT has stated that no decision has yet been taken on another patch for the original Gothic 3

game:

_"Like said, we have been thinking about this. But no final decision has been made. We will once again take a small break, it's Christmas

after all."_
