WORLD ENERGY WEEK. World Energy Week is the World Energy Council’s largest annual gathering dedicated to global energy issues. It is a powerful platform that connects regional realities and priorities with the global energy agenda. WORLD ENERGY CONGRESS Under the theme of “Embracing New Frontiers”, the 23rd World Energy Congress 23rd World Energy Congress was held in Istanbul, Turkey from 9 –13 October 2016.Co-hosted by the President of Turkey and the World Energy Council, the event welcomed 10,000 delegates from across the energy spectrum to address critical developments in theenergy sector.

The Issues Survey captures 25 core energy transition issues across 5 categories: The World Energy Issues Monitor is widely used by the World Energy Council’s Member Committees and the global energy community as a “reality check” tool, offering a horizon-scan of perspectives on energy transitions from a country’s own energystakeholders.
WORLD ENERGY SCENARIOS World Energy Scenarios 10 key messages 1 Energy system complexity will increase by 2050. 2 Energy efficiency is crucial in dealing with demand outstripping supply. 3 The energy mix in 2050 will mainly be fossil based. 4 Regional priorities differ: there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution to the energy trilemma. 5 The global economy will be challenged to meet the 450ppm target WORLD ENERGY LEADERS SUMMIT “The World Energy Leaders’ Summit attracted significant interest and attention within the region – and also from further afield. Transport sector fuel mix will still depend heavily on WEC ENERGY TRILEMMA INDEX TOOL The World Energy Council’s Energy Trilemma Index tool, produced in partnership with Oliver Wyman, ranks countries on their ability to provide sustainable energy through 3 dimensions: Energy security, Energy equity (accessibility and affordability), and Environmentalsustainability.
