THE SAVILL GARDEN
The award-winning Savill Building serves as a visitor centre for The Savill Garden and wider Great Park. It was opened in 2006 by H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh, Ranger of Windsor Great Park for almost 70 years. The wooden grid shell architecture, designed by Glenn Howells, was constructed from sustainable timber sources from within the GreatPark.

Probably the world’s most famous polo club, Guards Polo Club is situated in the heart of Windsor Great Park. With access to 14 polo fields, at Smith’s Lawn, Flemish Farm and Coworth Park, there are usually several games played each day during the season. Smith’s Lawn lies alongside one of the main cycling and riding routes around the Great Park. The horse track runs directly past the Prince Consort statue, which depicts Prince Albert in military uniform on horseback and is set back against the treeline. It was erected in 1887 as a gift to Queen Victoria from the Women of the British Empire. QUEEN ANNE'S RIDE & STAG MEADOW The history of Queen Anne’s Ride and Stag Meadow. Queen Anne's Ride, or Queen's Walk as it was originally known, is first mentioned in 1708. Initially planted with elm and lime trees, it was principally designed to allow Queen Anne to use her horse-drawn carriage, or 'chaise', giving her easy access to the Great Park and Forest beyond.
