WCC STUDENT SPOTLIGHT Kaylee Helton, a SAGE member, finished her certificate in accounting in December 2019. She transferred to Appalachian State in January 2020 to major in Commercial Photography and minor in Entrepreneurship. Wilkes Community College is adjusting its class schedule in accordance with guidance from state and local officials to proactively limit thespread of COVID-19.
WCC will cancel all classes (Curriculum, Workforce Development, Career and College Readiness) for the week of March 16-22, 2020. Cancelled classes include all classes regardless of delivery method, including online, on-campus, and off-campus. All WCC facilities will be closed to students including Wilkes Campus, Ashe Campus, Alleghany Center,and Herring Hall.
All full-time college employees should report to work on Monday, March 16, unless they are in self-quarantine. On March 23, the college plans to shift to a modified schedule with most classes transitioning to an online, hybrid, or otherwise adjustedformat.
