HISTORY - WHITECHAPEL GALLERY The Whitechapel Gallery was founded in 1901 to bring great art to the people of east London. MARK DION - WHITECHAPEL GALLERY Mark Dion was born in 1961 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, US and lives in New York with his wife and frequent collaborator Dana Sherwood. He studied at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, Connecticut (1981-82), which awarded him a BFA in 1986 and an honorarydoctorate in 2002.

JULIA SBRILLER & JOAQUÍN WALL: TORONTOIDES Julia Sbriller (b. 1986, Argentina) & Joaquin Wall (b.1986, Argentina) are a multidisciplinary duo based in Argentina. Their work, essentially hybrid and experimental, draws on a variety of mediums, including performance, architecture, sculpture, choreography, videoand installation.

Carlos Bunga (b. 1976, Portugal) creates monumental structures out of everyday materials to propose architecture as transitory and corporeal in his first major commission in London.
