BREXIT: POST-REFERENDUM HOPES AND EXPECTATIONS The high drama of the post-referendum period has given way to the relative quiet of high summer, albeit that Labour finds itself using the supposed ‘silly season’ to debate for a second year in a row who should be its leader. HOW BREXIT SHAPED THE LOCAL ELECTION VOTE It is perhaps not immediately obvious that local elections might be of interest or relevance to the Brexit process. After all, such elections are meant to be about who can best empty the bins rather than who can cut the best deal with Brussels.
