WELCOMING IDEAS ON TAKING ACTION ON ANTI-RACISM We are deeply committed to anti-racism and inclusion. We are extremely grateful for the honest feedback and ideas received from our stakeholders and so many more people. Thank you. Please be assured that everything is being immediately reviewed and considered in the context of next steps and our pending Action Plan. We also note your request for public accountability – we absolutelyagree.
In the meantime, there is a formal process underway to bring forth a series of tangible recommendations. Not words; actions. But we know that we cannot wait to act – it must be now. To this end:*
We are hiring a BIPOC woman educator with experience in assisting organizations in diversity and inclusion, anti-racism, and BIPOCempowerment;
*
We have launched a formal listening process, which will include direct input from stakeholders, as well as current/former staff members;*
Mandatory D&I training will be conducted for all staff;*
We will provide free-of-charge and accessible mental health support services for past and current staff;*
We are building WE’s leadership team to better reflect BIPOC representation at the executive and leadership levels. This is just a start. And we agree with the urgency around acting. In this context, we will soon provide an update with further action and a specific timeframe for fulfilling these commitments. We will continue to share updates, including on-going developments regarding our overall Action Plan.SIGNED BY
