Wisconsin Valley Fair Administrator Jodi Langenhahn announced Monday that grandstand acts are set for the fair, which runs Aug. 3 through Aug. 8 at Marathon Park in Wausau: Join the Wausau Pilot community. WAUSAU COMMITTEE CHOOSES $24.9M DEVELOPMENT FOR NORTH The Committee chose the T. Wall project over that of Riverlife Wausau, LLC, the local group that developed The Apartments at Riverlife. The latter group’s $8 million project would have comprised a single facility with 39 market-rate apartments, 39 underground parking spaces and a portion of first-floor, multi-tenant commercial space. MASSIVE FIRE REPORTED AT VERSO PAPER MILL IN WISCONSIN The facility, the largest paper mill in Central Wisconsin, shut down operations last year, resulting in hundreds of job losses in Wisconsin Rapids. Verso sold the company’s Duluth mill earlier this month. Over the past few months a group of timber professionals sought to purchase the Wisconsin Rapids mill in an effort to resume operations. Morris, who was shot last week during an armed encounter with police. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Renee Hindes, who lived in the apartment.
