The Inner Harbor Water Wheel, or “Mr. Trash Wheel” to locals, combines old and new technology to harness the power of water and sunlight to collect litter and debris flowing down the Jones Falls River. The river’s current provides power to turn the water wheel, which lifts trash and debris from the water and deposits it into adumpster barge.

The Walter Sondheim Fountain (the big splash pad adds another element of delight for kids on our waterfront. Located adjacent to West Shore Park the Fountain is on from May – September on Monday-Friday from 10am to 10pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 11am to 10pm. The Inner Harbor Water Wheel, or “Mr. Trash Wheel” to locals, combines old and new technology to harness the power of water and sunlight to collect litter and debris flowing down the Jones Falls River. The river’s current provides power to turn the water wheel, which lifts trash and debris from the water and deposits it into adumpster barge.

In this program, baby oysters are grown at designated oyster garden locations in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Septemberthrough June.

The Walter Sondheim Fountain (the big splash pad adds another element of delight for kids on our waterfront. Located adjacent to West Shore Park the Fountain is on from May – September on Monday-Friday from 10am to 10pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 11am to 10pm. PLEASE NOTE: the fountain is closed for the 2020 season due to COVID-19.OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
Harbor Point is one of the newest neighborhoods on the waterfront. This former industrial site is being transformed into a place to live, work, and play surrounded by stunning views of the Baltimore Harbor. The Central Plaza provides a great stage for events and activity in the heart of the neighborhood, providing a space for all to enjoy. THE WATERFRONT IS OPEN AND READY FOR YOU! The National Aquarium is currently open to the public. In response to COVID-19, they’ve made some essential changes to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
