The website as it appeared in 2006. The website started out with a small number of pages detailing the cast and gangs in the movie and explored some of the other aspects such as the soundtrack which I had just acquired on CD. The Warriors vs The Simpsons. The Warriors also holds a special place in the hearts and minds of many people for its portrayal of brotherhood, friendship and camaraderie. If you haven’t seen Director Walter Hill’s movie Southern Comfort, which was released 2 years after he released The Warriors, then I highly recommend it as it continues that theme of kinship and fraternity. THE WARRIORS FILMING LOCATIONS Meanwhile, Swan heads up some stairs to go and look for the other members of the gang. These stairs are located off Riverside Drive near West 99th Street, close to the Firemen’s Memorial which we visited earlier. Swan heads back to 96th Street station. Which we already established was filmed at 72nd Street station.THE WARRIORS STORY

I had never been in a movie before but I had been thinking about them and studying them and making student films before I arrived in New York. Filming for The Warriors began on June 26th 1978 in New York City for what would become one of the most iconic cult movies of all time. The making of The Warriors is extensively detailed below from over ten years of collecting facts and information related to the shooting of the movie. THE WARRIORS CAST & CHARACTERS Ajax – James Remar. Ajax, along with Cochise, is one of the “heavy muscle” members of The Warriors. Whilst a solid fighter who is good with his fists, he isn’t very smart and always tries to create unnecessary trouble and is the first to look for, or pick, a fight. He enjoys getting laid and is always on the look out for some“action”.
THE WARRIORS FILMING LOCATIONS This scene was filmed on Broadway close to Conway Street and Stewart Street. The Warriors make it back on to the subway but are forced off the train by a fire in Tremont. However, this isn’t Tremont but Queens. This was shot on 23rd Street between 45th Road and 45th Avenue. Here is a closeup of the area with the fire. THE WARRIORS FILMING LOCATIONS The filming location then changes to West 100th Street. This shot is with our back to Riverside Drive. It still looks very much the same today as it did when the movie was filmed in 1978/9. When The Warriors are hiding from The Turnbull AC’s their train passes by overhead. This is a ‘J’ train which didn’t go through this part of the city. Also, the return home is on a BMT train marked “RR” (internal shot with blind visible) – In 1979 this is believed to have been the line that went to Bay Ridge THE WARRIORS ACTION FIGURES The first one shown here is a Baseball Fury, created by Jim Abucewicz. It was apparently a hit at a movie convention. The second Baseball Fury figure was made by “Johnny”. These detailed figures have been made by Uriah from The Warriors Movie Forum. ABOUT - THE WARRIORS MOVIE SITE I therefore decided to build my own site and on the 19th February 2002, The Warriors Movie Site was born. The website as it appeared in 2006. The website started out with a small number of pages detailing the cast and gangs in the movie and explored some of the other aspects such as the soundtrack which I had just acquired on CD. THE WARRIORS FILMING LOCATIONS Meanwhile, Swan heads up some stairs to go and look for the other members of the gang. These stairs are located off Riverside Drive near West 99th Street, close to the Firemen’s Memorial which we visited earlier. Swan heads back to 96th Street station. Which we already established was filmed at 72nd Street station.THE WARRIORS BLOG
The Warriors vs The Simpsons. The Warriors also holds a special place in the hearts and minds of many people for its portrayal of brotherhood, friendship and camaraderie. If you haven’t seen Director Walter Hill’s movie Southern Comfort, which was released 2 years after he released The Warriors, then I highly recommend it as it continues that theme of kinship and fraternity. TIE-INS - THE WARRIORS MOVIE SITE A look at The Warriors movie action figures, comic, director's cut, novel, remake, references, soundtrack and video games as well as interviews and quizzes. THE WARRIORS DIRECTOR'S CUT The Warriors Director’s Cut is also available on Blu-Ray which uses the fire-design cover art. The movie looks astonishingly good in high definition considering that the movie was shot in 1978. Unfortunately, the special features on the are not in HD.
