The original Warhawk Air Museum in a small hangar at the Caldwell, ID airport. 1998. The first Warhawk Air Museum hangar built in Nampa, ID. It opened in 2001. Shown is the small collection brought from Caldwell. These are the original wood-framed display cases built by John, designed and organized by Sue. WARHAWK MEMORIAL DAY FLYOVER Each Memorial Day we salute the service and sacrifice of our magnificent Veterans. Click to enlarge. This year, we also honor our front line health care providers and thank them for keeping us safe. The flight will pass by the side (south or north) of each hospital at the times noted above. NORTH AMERICAN AT-6 HARVARD North American SNJ AT-6 Harvard. Past Visitor The North American Aviation T-6 Texan/ AT-6 Harvard was a single-engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1950s. KILROY COFFEE KLATCH AT WARHAWK AIR MUSEUM April 6, 2021 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Our Kilroy Coffee Klatch meets the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. and is FREE to any and all veterans! The general public is also welcome; regular admission charges will apply. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. No RSVPrequired.
BELL UH-1C “MIKE” MODEL GUN SHIP Bell UH-1C “Mike” Model Gun ship. The “Mike” model Huey was a conversion of the existing UH-1C by re-engining it with the 1,400 shp (1,000 kW) Lycoming T53-L-13 powerplant used in the UH-1H. This provided more power to the “C” model for its role as a gunship, and also provided engine commonality between the attack and transport NORTH AMERICAN P-51D MUSTANG P-51D Mustang Specifications. Built: Original construction in 1943, Dallas, TX. Markings: Painted in the markings of WWII Fighter Ace Capt. Edwin L. Heller. “Hell-Er-Bust” and Capt. Heller flew in the 486th Fighter Squadron of the 352nd Fighter Group. Engine: Rolls-Royce“Merlin” V

The P-40, developed from the P-36, was America’s foremost fighter in service when World War II began. P-40s engaged Japanese aircraft during the attack on Pearl Harbor and the invasion of the Philippines in December 1941. They also were flown in China early in 1942 by the famed Flying Tigers, and in North Africa in CURTISS P-40N WARHAWK Curtiss P-40N Warhawk. OUR STAFF | WARHAWK AIR MUSEUM Originally from Northern California, Sue Paul and her husband John moved to Idaho in 1986, now calling Boise home. They co-founded the Warhawk Air Museum in 1989, where she has served as the volunteer Executive Director for 26 years. She is a pilot and member of the International 99’s, a women’s flying organization founded byAmelia Earhart.
PIPER L-4 GRASSHOPPER Piper L-4 Grasshopper. Past Visitor Dating back to a 1930 design called the Taylor Cub, the Piper J-3 Cub design was popular as a civilian trainer and sport plane for at least three years before the US Army Air Corps ordered the first Piper L-4s in 1941 for use as a light liaison and observation aircraft.DONOR RECOGNITION

Republic F-84G Thunderjet. The F-84 has served many functions during its service life and gone through many iterations. Republic Aviation first came up with the design for a single-engine, straight-wing jet fighter in 1944, as a successor to the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, but early models had considerable problems and the program was almostcancelled.

Jim Steinford is retired from the U.S. Airforce, spent 6 years at NASA and was a member of the Apollo 13 Ground Support team. He spoke several months ago about his 6 years at NASA, which included being a member of the Apollo 13 Ground Support Team. During the Q&A session he was asked if he had ever seen a UFO, and he responded that yes, hehad!
