The Art of Renewal. A thank-you to the arts leaders who navigated us through tough times — and a charge for the next era. Spring! How sweet the sound, as the warmer weather begins to soften the cacophony of disruption, disillusion, and despair that infused our year past. Yes, the arts are still here, stimulating our psyches in inventive new THAT’S SOME ASPARAGUS: ROHDEA JAPONICA by Tony Avent. illustration by Ippy Patterson. I first became enamored with Rohdea. japonica back around the time President Richard Nixon uttered that immortal line, “I am not a crook.” As I was always on the lookout for new plants that weren’t available in mainstream nurseries, Rohdea japonica was a perfect 1970s-era discovery.
