Established in 2010, the charity Walking With The Wounded provides vulnerable veterans independence through employment WELCOME TO THE WALK OF AMERICA Frankie Perez. Frankie was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is the youngest of 10 siblings. Frankie signed up with the Army in 2001 as a member of the Puerto Rico National Guard and was assigned to the 92 nd Manoeuver Enhancement Brigade. During his deployment to Iraq, Frankie was struck by an IED, and spent the following 10 years suffering with PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury. ABOUT - PROGRAMMES - EMPLOYMENT - WALKING WITH THE WOUNDED Since our network of advisors was first established in 2014, 1245 veterans have received employment support. Last year, we saw 216 new registrations and a total of 540 being supported. 151 paid outcomes were achieved for those individuals and a further 282 unpaid outcomes , such as a work placement or volunteering placement, were secured.
