I dreamed of attending l’Académie des Beaux-Arts and becoming a sculptor, but I enrolled in law school instead to please my father. At the age of 15, Petri and his family took a six-week ship journey and relocated to Brisbane, Australia. While on this journey, Petri had a sexual encounter with a male, which would JONATHAN WARD LONDON Volt Café recently spent a scent-infused and very heady afternoon at Jonathan Ward’s artisan candle factory in London. We were shown the entire process and were even let loose on some candles ourselves – very exciting! We managed not to drop any beakers of melted wax and Mr Ward even found the time to speak to Volt Café’s Maria Asadi.A lovely man, creating a beautiful and very genuine BLUE RONDO A LA TURK Back in the 80’s, the unit known as Blue Rondo a la Turk was the very definition of the word ‘cool’. The name was taken from the B-side of Dave Brubeck’s Take Five and singer/writer Chris Sullivan, guitarist Mark Reilly and vocalist Christos Tolera and a bunch of similarly talented folk successfully fused Latin jazz, R&B, Cuban and urban soul with a strong pop sensibility whichMISS CROFTON
Miss Crofton is a label that has been making girls (and their special boos) very happy for the last 6 years. Georgia, who still makes every piece by hand, is passionate about quality and would rather prick her fingers all weekend long than sell a bra that’s not up to her standards. Her wide range of fabrics means that there is a set for any THE FASHION WORLD OF JEAN PAUL GAULTIER There is of course an equally breathtaking catalogue. The first ever monograph on Jean Paul Gaultier with more than 550 illustrations spread over 424 pages also contains 50 interviews with Gaultier’s many muses, colleagues and celebrities including Boy George, Polly Mellen, Tom Ford and Dita Von Teese.Articles by Valerie Steele, Suzy Menkes and Florence Müller makes this book a very JONATHAN LEDER-PHOTOGRAPHER Born, raised and still based in New York, fashion photographer Jonathan Leder works with a very small team, just him, his wife, Danielle and a few friends. His background is artistic, after studying painting at university he went to Parsons in Paris and after that a couple of schools in Italy studying classical painting.
