Instead of buying a swing, Mr. SP and I challenged ourselves to build a swing using these plans from Jay’s Custom Creations. The lamp pieces were threaded on a rod, so the next step was to remove each piece from the rod. I discovered that this lamp was made in Japan after I took it apart. To clean the cross stitch, I put some water in a bucket, added some laundry detergent, and swirled it with my hand until the detergent dissolved. I then soaked the cross stitch in the detergent mixed with water. I meant to do this overnight but we went out of town for the weekend, so my cross stitch soaked for a few days. PRESERVED GOURD WREATH This wreath is very simple to make and if you don’t have dried gourds, faux ones from a craft store would look fabulous. How to: I started by cutting 3” strips of a beautiful checked fabric. The strips were wrapped around a straw form and adhered with a glue gun. A burlap bow was made and wired into place.
