MANSION VISITATION CONTINUES TO GROW Mansion Visitation Continues to Grow. As we close the books and crunch the numbers for another successful holiday season, we are delighted to report that visitation has been steadily on the rise. Though we saw a slight decrease in visitation in 2016 and 2017, the Mansion welcomed over 33,000 people by the end of December and we expect to see CONSERVATION OF THE INTERIOR: ONGOING WORK IN THE MANSION Conservation of the Interior: Ongoing Work in the Mansion’s Parlor. Now in its eighth month, the conservation project to clean and stabilize the walls and ceiling of the Parlor is still in progress, and with the completion of our successful Christmas season the room is once again a hive of activity as conservators complete a second pass MOE'S ORIGINAL BBQ FUNDRAISER March 30 @ 11:00 am - 8:00 pm. We are partnering with Moe’s Original BBQ in South Portland to raise funds for education. Though the store’s founder and namesake– and second owner of the Mansion– J.R. Libby had 'HISTORY CATCHES UP TO THE MORSES' BY CHARISSE GENDRON In turn, during the Renaissance revival of the nineteenth century, Europeans embellished stately rooms with images from the ancient world. Taking a page from the continental style book, scenic artist Giuseppe Guidicini painted a vignette of Leda and the swan in the innermost sanctum of the Victoria Mansion, the Dressing Room of themaster suite.
