For the 2020 VCBF Haiku Invitational 747 poets submitted 1,364 haiku. With so many from which to choose, the task of selecting the top haiku required a great deal of thought and consultation among the judges. The theme was simply “Cherry Blossoms,” reflecting the purpose of 2020 THE BIG PICNIC AT QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK 2020 Artist Bios: The Khac Chi Ensemble (Vietnamese duo) . is an incredibly talented Vietnam’s premiere musicians that have won the hearts of audiences in 25 countries over the globe. Showcasing rare and unique musical instruments that made by bamboo, interspersed with peoples of Vietnam, interspersed with the haunting melodies of Dan Bau, a one-string zither from northern Vietnam, the Koni CELEBRATING WINNING HAIKU Each tree ‘grew’ in a different location of Vancouver during the first three weeks of the Cherry Blossom Festival. The Haiku tree invited the public to take a rest and encourages them to write their own Haiku on it with a permanent marker. After three weeks of ‘growth’, the trees will be exhibited in VanDusen Botanical Gardenfor the

Focus on moments, on little observations. Take the things you see and hear and smell and touch and transform them into words. Pine boughs swaying in a gentle breeze.
