are not the sole creation of fiction and man’s imagination. There is a wealth of material in legends, hear-say, witness accounts, and true facts that have been reported over the centuries. Substantial and documented reporting of vampires only fuel fantasy, as fantasy alone did not create the fear of vampires not the interest in them. The creatures we love read about and study have been the cause of unexplaiable events, the appearance of extraordinary occurrences, and the end product of immoral behavior. We have used vampires and various creatures as explanations for the unknown, such as problems in childbirth and plagues.Vampire
stories and stories of vampire creatures are found worldwide. They stretch from men, women, children vampires, and unsexed creatures. Where many vampires suck blood from humans, some that prefer to steal youth, hope, love, and human souls. The variance is great, but with each tale, we learn more about human nature. Vampires throughout history have varied from merciless killers to romantic bottle drinkers. No longer do we fear creatures like the Jigarkhwar of Indian legends or the Obayifo of West African stories. We now surround ourselves in stories like ‘Twilight’ and ‘True Blood,’ where vampires live among humans in a non-threatening manner, in search of the normal life they no longer have part of, as they are the undead among the worldof the living.
We now find more people who want to live within the vampire culture, where to be a vampire or to meet a vampire is something to be soughtafter.
No matter your interest level in vampires, you’ll find they are a true part of world history.
