Summer Camps. While our regular camp programs will not be offered this season, the planning of a special summer youth program is underway. HORSE LOVERS' WEEKEND Horse lovers will have reason to celebrate at Upper Canada Village's Horse Lovers’ weekend. This special event features three action-packed days showcasing riding, driving and working horses. Celebrate our special relationship with the noble Canadian Horse, first introduced to Canada in the 1600s (New France at the time). Upper Canada Village DAILY LIFE - ST. LAWRENCE PARKS COMMISSION Daily Life. The first settlers had to clear land in order to build their homes and farms. They had to provide their own food and clothing. A family's survival required undertaking a wide range of daily tasks in order to meet their farm and household needs. In order for a family to succeed, it was necessary for each member of thefamily to
